4 Indications You May Need To Get Your Septic Tank Cleaned

Posted on

Taking time to care for your home is something you'll need to do each day. Of course, there are issues that may arise that require the attention over time. One of these includes the septic unit in your home. The last thing you'll want to do is avoid having it cleaned when it's time to do so. The good news is there are indications that will show you this task needs to be done and knowing what these are may be helpful to you.

Indication #1:  Pooling water

Did you go outside and suddenly see a puddle of water in your yard and it hasn't been raining? If so, this is one of the first signs you may notice that indicates you have an issue with your septic tank.

If this continues to get larger, this may merely mean your problem is becoming more and more severe. It's ideal to consider the amount of water in this area.

Indication #2: Bad smell

One of the worse things about having a septic tank that needs to be cleaned could involve it having a horrible smell.  This is due to it possibly overflowing and is an immediate indication that your pump needs to have some serious attention.

Indication #3: Clogged drains

If you recently noticed that your pipes aren't clearing as quickly as you'd like this could be a sign you have an issue with your tank. It can be a frustrating experience to have a kitchen sink that doesn't drain as quickly as you like or a bathroom sink that remains clogged.

All of these issues could be due to the needing cleaning and hiring a professional to ensure the necessary work is done when possible.

Indication #4: Healthier grass in spots

If you notice the grass above your septic tank is primarily green and lush, this means you could have a problem. It's very common for the grass in this area to look better than most if your septic tank requires a good cleaning to run better.

One of the things you'll want to do is properly care for all of the major components of your home, and the septic tank is one of the these. Failing to look after this unit can lead to unwanted issues that should need to be addressed at some point. Be sure to work closely with a plumber in your area today, such as from Economy  Septic Service, to tackle this significant task!
